CSGO types of wears stickers and floats

Over the course of the game’s long life, CS:GO has introduced a ton of skins and other collectibles. This is great for long term players, as it prevents the game from appearing stale. However, the various types of skins and their variations can have some side effects. For players just getting into trading and using CS:GO skins, even the language and terminology are hard to understand sometimes. If you’re a new player here are some commonly asked questions and their answers.

What types of skins are available?

The most common type of skin is called
‘Normal’. This isn’t a very exciting name but it is very suitable. As the name
suggests, these skins are the ‘normal’ versions on which other types are based.
Some skins only have this default variation. These can be obtained through
random drops, uncrating and trading. You can also trade up normal skins of
lower rarities to get rarer items.

Stat-Trak items are rarer and have special
features. By opening Weapon Cases, you have the chance to gain Stat-Trak weapons.
This means that Stat-Trak versions of default skins do not exist. These skins
have a kill counter and an orange LED, which tracks how many kills you’ve
achieved with that weapon. These skins were added in the Arms Deal update in
2013. Stat-Trak items are outlined in orange in players’ inventories, similar
to Strange items in Team Fortress 2. When one of these skins is listed  on the Steam Community Market or traded, the
kill counter resets, so you can’t take the glory from somebody else’s kills.

Souvenir items are available only limited
time periods during major CS:GO tournaments and competitions. Spectators of
these events might find an extremely valuable drop while enjoying the event.
Other than that, they can only be obtained through trading with other players. These
items are often very expensive as they are rare and most players don’t want to
part with them. Souvenir skins are functionally equivalent to their ‘normal’
counterparts but they have special stickers on them, that can’t be obtained any
other way.

What are contraband items?

Contraband items are those which are
discontinued and can no longer be obtained through crates or drops. This means
that they are only available through trading. The limited supply also makes
these items very valuable. Some of them can cost upwards of thousands of
dollars because of this gap in supply and demand.

What does wear mean?

An important consideration of how
individual skins vary is wear. This affects how aged your weapon looks. Factory
New weapons look almost spot-free, while Battle-Scarred items can give you the
experienced veteran look you may be going for. Overall, this is a cosmetic
change so it really depends on what you think looks best. In fact, your
preferences will probably vary even from skin to skin. It is notable, however,
that extreme wear values (in both directions) are more expensive because these
are rarer.

What are float values and how can I view
them?

Wear is represented as descriptive
categories like ‘Field-Tested’ and ‘Well-Worn’ in your Steam inventory.
However, CS:GO actually has float values typically ranging from 0 to 0.99,
which determines how the item looks in-game. If you want to see these exact
values, you can go to Steam Analyst or CSGO Exchange for this purpose.

What are stickers?

Going more in debt about csgo stickers and floats. Stickers are an additional cosmetic item that you can use to customize your weapons. Most weapons have the capacity to place four stickers but there are some with more. Most stickers can be acquired through sticker capsules or trading. Stickers also of have rarities with Gold being some of the rarest. Some of them also have variations. Stickers are used up and weapons with stickers keep them when they are traded. If you want stickers to match the wear of your weapon, you can scrape them till they look just like how you want them.

Where can I get these items?

Some of these skins can even be acquired
just by playing the game, as they will drop during a match. However, there are
others that can only be obtained through trading or opening crates. We’re also
working on a guide on how you can start trading and get weapons that way.
Additionally, you can also earn free skins by participating in games and
surveys on various sites like CollectSkins.com.

Hopefully, this was able to clear up any confusions you had about the many csgo stickers and floats on CS:GO skins that are available. For further questions, you can leave a comment or contact us.
